The work that has inspired my interpretation of the train is based on my most recent artwork which focuses on the idea of faeries and other "wee" creatures of the imagination. I enjoy creating vignettes for these "wee people"out of mosses, bark, fungi, and other natural materials which I find beautiful and enjoy working with. I have also tried to tie in the appearance of the original steam engines of the Rutland Railroad by adding details that look like the engines at the turn of the century. My hope is that all who see this train will let their imaginations take them on an imaginary excursion with the wee folk.
