I chose this theme
for its relevance to the marble industry in the
Rutland region and because I enjoy utilizing faux
finishes in my art. I also like using trompe l'oeil
elements and juxtaposing the earthly and unearthly
to create an experience for viewers that takes them
outside the realm of ordinary perception. Sincere
