I got involved with
the All Aboard Rutland project because I thought
it would be fun and give me a chance to celebrate
Rutland's history through my art and on a very atypical
canvas. My main inspiration for this and all of
my art would be my father, Paul Gottier, a person
of many wonderful talents, one of them being art,
which I thank him for passing on to me. When I was
a child, he
and I used to set up model electric trains. We built
the trains and all the surrounding landscape in
our basement. Sometimes we would work on them for
hours and always had fun doing it. So placing my
photography and art on a wooden locomotive
to celebrate the city my father chose for
his children to grow up in seems...perfectly right.
Thank you to Kelly and Elliot Johnson for helping
me and being patient, when I was with the train
and not at dinner and LaValley Building Supply here
in Rutland for donating many of the supplies I needed.
They are an awesome bunch over there. The train
wouldn't have been completed without them.
